Hot Dating Tip #16: Be Willing to Fail

Monday, April 28th, 2008

By Scott Holland There are a lot of single women out there. A lot. It doesn’t matter if you get turned down flat by the next hundred women you talk to. Really, it doesn’t matter, unless you live in a small village and never go anywhere. If you can learn to treat failure as emotionally neutral - just another learning experience - you will be much more likely to find success. Why? Because you will no longer dramatize those moments that you used to find ‘embarrassing’ into scary movies in your head. You know that one? If you can approach any woman without caring too much whether she likes you or not, you will be in a very powerful position. Women are attracted to men who have a ‘don’t care’ attitude, especially very attractive women who get hit on all the time. Whatever you do, however good you are at making the first move, you will sometimes get turned down. But as my sales manager used to say, “Every ‘no’ takes you one step nearer to the next ‘yes’. If you want to have the self-confidence to approach any woman you choose and the self-esteem to brush off the occasional rejection without a second thought, take a few minutes to visit my web site. Packaging Your Invention: Think Like A Consumer

Friday, April 25th, 2008

By George Davison Turning your invention into a product takes more than just coming up with an idea. If you want to sell that idea to a company, negotiate a licensing agreement or if you’re going it alone and hope to sell it directly to buyers, you’re going to need packaging. It’s the logical next step to create packaging for your invention’s product sales sample. The invention package challengeIt’s obvious that big brand products don’t face the challenges your new product will. Big brands are backed by millions of advertising dollars, or years of consumer interaction, leaving the challenge to you - the potential competitor. For an entertaining look at how different brands apply packaging techniques, watch this fun video that rethinks Microsoft packaging of Apple’s iPod. However, with Apple they sell the iPod with a clean, sleek and stylish package, focusing little on the product’s features and more on how hip it is for the consumer. While a joke, the video does hit a few key points you should think about when packaging: Bullet point benefits and features Show human interaction with the product in use Keep it on brand When you create your invention’s package, you won’t be afforded the mindshare companies like Apple and Microsoft already own with consumers. Remember, people tend to gravitate toward things they know and understand. While your invention may be at a disadvantage over established brands, don’t use that as a reason to give up. Think about packaging this way: Imagine you’re driving on the Interstate at 65 mph. The radio is on and the kids are in the backseat. A big rig is attempting to pass you. Now, among all of these distractions you catch a glimpse of a billboard. You have two or three seconds to focus in on it before you’ve passed it. Did you get its message? This is a great exercise in understanding package and advertising communication. You’d be amazed how effective, or ineffective, billboards are at communicating to motorists. Apply this to packaging on store shelves. Imagine you’re in the store. You are pushing a cart and you have a predetermined list of products you need to purchase. Your children are with you again and they’re fussy. You have to get the shopping done and return home by a certain time to meet your schedule. You’re on a fixed budget and only certain items can be purchased. In this environment, a product has even less time to communicate with a consumer. Will your invention’s packaging catch their eye? Are your invention’s benefits and features positioned clearly for easy reading? Will it convince the consumer that it’s worth their time to stop and consider fitting it into their purchasing budget? If you can create shelf presence and get noticed by the general consumer, your invention’s packaging will definitely communicate to corporate decision makers and retail buyers - the gatekeepers who hold the key to your product hitting store shelves. And that’s the first step in getting an order for your invention, a license agreement or whatever your goal as the inventor may be. For nearly 20 years, George Davison has focused his life on helping inventors, people with ideas and corporations with product development, licensing and patenting. Nail Fungus - The DMSO factor

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

By Rick Sims A nail fungus infection is a condition called onychomycosis. It is the most common nail problem with about 20 - 40 million Americans being affected. The main concern is the nail discoloration (usually yellow or brown) and change in nail texture and growth. Nail fungus can make the nail thick or can become crumbly, break easily, and grow irregularly. The body naturally has a host of microorganisms inside of it including bacteria and fungi that grow within the body. We need bacteria in our gut to give us nutrients and help break down food. What we dont need are microscopic plant organisms that feed on our tissue called dermatophytes. Once fungus gets into the nail bed it can be very difficult to treat, but with proper medication it can go away on its own. Because the fungus grows slowly, it can be hard to eliminate. Anti-fungal medications are available to combat fungal infections; however, they are strong oral medications that must be taken consistently for months in order to be effective. The medications also have potential side effects to other body organs (especially the liver, skin and/or bone marrow). To monitor side effects your physician must order periodic blood tests (usually monthly) during treatment. Any of the symptoms (listed below) suggesting organ damage should be reported immediately to your physician. Unusual fatigue Severe loss of appetite Nausea Yellow eyes Dark urine Pale stool Skin rashes Bleeding Enlarged lymph glands There are natural alternative treatments that work better than prescription medications and without the harmful side effects. Natural medications work with the body because they are found in nature. DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) is an all natural byproduct of the wood processing industry (pine trees) and has over 50,000 medical studies to its credit. DMSO has the amazing ability of entering through the nail and into the nail bed, and is considered a chemical penatration enhancer in the medical community. This can be very useful getting antifungal medications into the nail where they belong. DMSO enters the body by osmosis and is easily absorbed in the body. The attributes of DMSO has led thousands of people to use it on a host of problems like painful sore joints to even herpes. When entering through the nail it also brings other antifungal extracts with it into the nail. Extracts like Tea tree oil (Melaleuca), Peppermint (mentha piperita), Camphor (cinnamomum), and Oregano (Origanum vulgare) all help heal nail fungus naturally because they are antifungal (antimicrobial) in nature. Plants have natural antifungal agents inside of them to protect themselves from fungi. It takes weeks if not months to eliminate nail fungus, but with proper nail care and the right medication you can do it. I enjoy my work at http://www.Nailremedy.com . I enjoy writing, long walks and spending time with family. Spend most of my time in Florida. Spent most of my youthful years as a long distance runner. The Debate on Public Prayer

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

By Michael Heindel The debate of prayer in public schools is a particularly heated one in which the opposing sides feel very strongly that they are in the right. Prayer in the public school system will be used as an example for the purpose of this article but it is not the only instance of public prayer that is often denied by state and federal laws. Christians, especially, come under attack for advocating for student guided prayer on a voluntary basis. They feel that as long as those who do not wish to pray are not being forced to do so, there is no reason why those who want to share in prayer services should be denied the right to do so. A number of legal issues such as separation of church and state and freedom of speech are often discussed in relation to the issue of public prayer. Those against prayer in the public school system argue that prayer in schools is tantamount to the government imposing prayer, and by extension religion, on the students while proponents of prayer in school argue that students who wish to pray are being denied their constitutional right of free speech. Shouldnt Christians Pray in Private? Those who argue against public prayer often point out Matthew 6:5-6 which states, And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love and pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of menwhen thou prayest, enter into the closet and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father. Those who oppose public prayer point this verse out to prove their point that prayer should be kept private. They argue that the bible explicitly condemns public prayer as being hypocritical. However, Christians are aware that this passage was meant to condemn hypocrisy rather than to condemn public prayer. There are numerous biblical examples that show Jesus praying with others. It is through these references that Christians receive their confirmation of the power of public prayer. In these examples their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ reached out to those around them to embrace them in prayer. Prayer in public for the purpose of being noticed and making sure that others notice your prayer is hypocrisy while prayer in public that is offered with sincerity and without pretension can be extremely powerful. Why Christians Advocate for Public Prayer Although the freedom of speech argument is often made by Christians who are seeking the rights for students to pray in school, the reasoning behind their passion for the subject is not related to political interpretation or constitutional rights. Christians understand the value of public prayer and of praying for others and do not want their children to miss out on the opportunity to pray with their friends. Public prayer can be extremely powerful. Every Sunday Christians around the globe gather together to worship and unite in prayer. Through public prayer the power of the prayer is magnified exponentially. The sincere prayer of an individual is powerful in itself but when this prayer is united with the prayer of others, there is no limit to what prayers can accomplish. Unfold the Advantages of the Equity in your House

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Pranav_Das]Pranav Das Most of the people in UK fulfill their financial needs by taking loans. There is a significant increase in the number of people availing loans for different financial purposes. And this has given rise to a large number of lenders offering various kinds of loans in the financial market. Some of the most common loans being secured loans, unsecured loans, personal loans, business loans, homeowner loans, holiday loans, home equity loans etc. But, here we will specifically focus on home equity loans. [http://www.chance4finance.co.uk/home-equity-loans.html]Home equity loans are those secured loans that are taken against the equity tied up with your house. It means that if you have already taken a loan against your home you can use a part of its equity to avail another loan. Suppose you had taken a loan of say, 65% of the equity of your house then you can use the rest 35% of the equity and take a home equity loan against it. Take another example. The value of your house was 50,000 ten years ago and you had taken a homeowner loan against it. Now, the value has increased and has become 80,000. So, you can easily avail a home equity loan against the equity in your house that is 30,000. Being secured loans by nature, home equity loans are cheap loans. The interest rates charged on such loan is low. The Annual Per cent Rates are also low. The monthly installments are small and the repayment duration is longer. This enables you to pay less than you would pay for an unsecured loan. Home equity loans can be utilised for a number of purposes. You can use the money raised by the loan to renovate your house, to buy a new car, to fund your education, to finance your marriage, to buy your dream holiday package etc. The best part of availing a home equity loan is that you utilise the intrinsic value of your house. And, since the interest rates are low you dont end up paying a large some of money to your lender. So, if you feel that the equity in your house is underutilised, go get a home equity loan. How Did I End Up in Depression

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

By Foo Siew Yuen How did I end up in depression? My life has been busy for many years, serving and ministering in church; working fulltime in church, involved in many areas of ministries, travel a lot with the church team and ministered in different nations. Life seemed so fruitful and busy. But things began to change. I lost my own vision. I was lost indeed. No more sense of purpose and direction in life. My personal dreams and visions were dead. And age is catching-up fast. No more future. I felt so hopeless and miserable. Life has no more meaning. Time passed so fast! Am I going to die like this? Am I going to die and leave nothing behind, noon would remember, no story to tell and no legacy, just die as an ordinarily!!! Really feeling like a failure at the end of the day, accomplishing nothing in life. And I was not able to tell why I was born, why am here. What is the purpose of God created me? I am so lost I have no tomorrow. "Tomorrow" was just another day. I don’t look forward to it at all. I felt so tired. I didn’t feel like waking up and just wanted to sleep my days through. I felt like crying all the time. I was almost constantly sad and nothing seemed to make me happy anymore. When I was alone I started to think of things and cried over them, and I cried myself to sleep most of the time. I regretted over many things. I was upset and did not understand why others didn’t listen properly to what I was saying. Why couldn’t they understand me? I always felt guilty and I was such a burden to people around me. Self-searching made me more confused. Who am I? Am I a melancholy? Am I a sanguine? Am I a phlegmatic? Some say I am a melancholic, some say I am a san, some say I am phlegmatic I continued to search by reading more books on personality, Childhood memory, Birth Order, and etc. I was so confused that I was neither this nor that. What am I then? Where do I stand? Who am I? I thought to myself, why are you so complicated? Why are you so hard to be understood, why are you making things so difficult for yourself? Not just feeling confused, I get so frustrated, so angry within, just don’t understand why? I find it so hard to express myself I don’t know how to explain to others how I feel. I don’t know what is happening so how can I tell. I know I am sad. Why? How come? What it is that makes me sad? How sad? What kind of sad? I can’t explain I can’t tell. But it’s there all the time. When I am alone I just stare in to the space. I can see through everything thing and everyone as if they don’t exist. I can just stare and when blank. I lost appetite and the interest in food. Eating is not a joy anymore. I just eat for the sake of eating, forcing food down the throat and feeling full easily. I started to isolate myself because I couldn’t seem to cope with many people around. At home I just lock myself inside my room, off the lights and pretending that I am sleeping early. I like to be alone most of the time. I began to lose sleep, hardly have any sleep for a long period of time. Lying down on bed I begin to think and cry again and again. Why must I live! Thoughts of death and suicide run all over my mind. How did I end up in depression? Step by step as it happened, little by little I begin to enter into depression for a long period of time. Thank God that He made a way for me. Some how someone tell me that this dear friend is coming back from US, and if I would like to talk to him and seek some counsel from him. Thing was arranged and we communicated through email before he is back to Malaysia. I am so thankful for this dear friend of mine who are so willing to sacrifice his time to meet with me and have a session of sharing and counselling. With his training and wisdom he opened my mind to think differently and bring about a new understanding to my thinking all together. I believe God has advance plan all this before me. He opened my eyes to see who I am. He teach me to think "and" instead of "or". I can be a melancholic and a san. When Faith is with people she like and comfortable with she is a san. When Faith is with certain situation or people she is a melancholic. And when I am all alone I am melancholic again. To think in terms of "and" will free our mind and not lock ourselves to a certain type of personality or mould. And few more things that he has freed me from his wise advice and counsel. I begin to understand the changes that happen in my life and emotion. And know very well that I am a alien living in the planet. The things I experience and struggle in life, many have faced it too. Even before my meeting with this dear friend of mine. God has started to work. He sent people to encourage me to take singing class. She did not just encourage she took practical steps to help me to get the right teacher and financially sponsored me to go for it. I thank God for this sister who took the practical step and God who lead me to the right teacher. Since I started to learn singing I begin to find purpose of living again. I have a vision, goal and dream now. I have something to pursue. My teacher is so encouraging within a month time he begin to show me where I can go and how to go about setting my goal in my singing career. He showed me the possible plan for me to achieve in this time of my life. I find meaning of living again. I know where to go. I know what to do. Someone show me the way step by step and is possible to achieve. I can do something I can achieve something. I can leave a legacy before I die!!! As I am writing this, I have obtained my Grade 8 certificate in singing where I started from zero one and half year ago. Singing gives me so much joy and become a source of energy for me to draw life from. Finally I found myself again, my purpose of living, my reason of living. I am alive again!!! Religion Should Promote Unity and Not Diversity

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

By Sharmila Sanka A common path of invisible thread to unite all the people belonging to the same community, customs and traditions worshipping one God is named as Religion. People of the same community shared the same traditions, customs, sentiments and feelings and the worship of God. So some of the responsible people wanted to lead them on to one path and they named this path RELIGION. In order to promote love for God and not to create any discrepancies the leaders of the religion encouraged the people to worship God. Who is God? God is the Creator of this Universe. He is super intelligent and does not need any present day technology to create or destroy any. He is omniscient and omni present. He occupies the hearts of His devotees. A true devotee is one who loves God and not love or fight in the name of God. God is great and His ways are inexplicable. So, we being human feel the necessity out of gratitude to bow to such a great being called God. When we worship Him, we are in fact worshipping and bowing to the divine qualities in him such as Selfless Love, Forbearance, Justice and Compassion. So we should always worship Him so that we are drenched in his divine qualities. God is only one but the names different religions attached to His being are different. So, different paths called religions arose in the name of devotion to God. The paths are different but the ultimate goal to reach the God is the same. Love for god is the same for any religion. When man is spiritual enough to worship God, why is he ignorant to realize the equality of divinity in all religions? Why does he fight in the name of religion? Will the Lord whom man worships and fights for, enjoys and takes happiness in these religious fights? Are we so ignorant and foolish to blame the Gods of other religions? Are they not one and the same? All religions are meant to promote love for God but never hatred towards others. No religion is great or to be blamed for reasons which are absolutely human. For the society to live in peace and happiness, man needs to have Morality, Fear of sin and Love for God. When one has all the above three qualities he is fit to be an exemplary individual. When one has love for God, he will have fear of sin and will also be just in his thought, word and deed. To create love for God, these religions were originally created but the main aim has been diverted in the present day. Cant we live peacefully without fighting in the name of religion? Silence is better than arguing aimlessly. If all of us minded our own religion without blaming each other religion, this earth would turn into heaven. Religious fights have become the characteristic feature of todays life. Being citizens, we ought not to encourage such evil traits. A truly religious person is not one who fights for religion but the one who loves God of any religion, the true meaning of religion being Love for God. Education shouldnt promote religious differences. It should in fact soften the life of man. Education is needed not only for mind but for soul too. It is only then will the man realize he is not to fight in the name of religion because any religion is meant to unite the individual with the divine. We see some faults in the teachings of religion as some of the people interpreted them in their own ways. Some took it to their advantage and started creating conflicts for their selfish motives. Every individual is gifted with the power of discrimination. Cant we think for ourselves if the creation of conflicts in the name of Religion is for the welfare of the whole world or for their individual purposes? The love people have for Jesus, Allah, Ram, Buddha or any other God is the same but their paths are different according to their customs, the environment they are born and brought up and their cultural habits. Being human we tend to point out at the mistakes of other religions which are really not because we are not satisfied or confident of our own religion. It is not wrong in being religious. One has the freedom to forbid himself from worshipping different names and forms of God but he has absolutely no right to blame other religions. If we start doing it, our future generations also will learn this habit of blaming other religions and it goes on and on and this habitual chain never breaks up which ultimately leads to confusion and commotion in the living of humanity. Such mistakes or blunders will never be spared by the great one above who is a witness to all these religious fights. It is our responsibility to look after the welfare of all the religions. When so many people believe in the existence of their religious Gods how can we deny their existence? Teaching and practicality might differ but are not impossible. At the end of this article many of your minds might think if I really follow the above. I really dont blame other religions and though I am a Hindu I pray to Jesus, Allah and also Buddha. I sing their songs to my little child so that she gets habituated to their names and does not doubt their existence in the future. The only remedy to create religious harmony and spirituality is to teach and show our children not the forms of our religious God alone but that of others too. This way from their childhood they will have expansive knowledge and awareness of all the religions and their respective Gods and so they do not deny, fight or blame the existence of other religions and their Gods. Being spiritual is, being able to accept any religion or God. The more spiritual you are, the less difference you see. -Sharmila Sanka About the Author With pride that I have been blessed with a human form, I always craved to grab any opportunity in order to utilize this human birth to the fullest and at last I found the answer to my craving mind and it was no other than Spirituality. My little heart panged for the desire to quench my thirst of releasing the heaviness which resided inside of it since years. It hungered after the soul within asking to reveal more of life Materialistic and Spiritual in the form of Articles and Quotations which had the sole purpose of sharing it with other human beings not for name or fame but to tame this little mind towards the higher goal of Global Peace on this earth plane. Finding Quality Children’s Apparel

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

By Sarah Freeland Finding quality childrens apparel doesnt have to be a chore. With a few helpful tips, you can get your childs shopping done faster and enjoy it more. The important thing is to focus on the fit and durability of the clothing. And, of course, it helps to know where to shop. The internet is a great place to purchase childrens apparel. There are an abundance of websites available. One of these websites is Ebay.com. When shopping for your child on Ebay, it is a good idea to shop for name brand clothing. Ebay has so much kids clothing, and limiting yourself to name brand will ensure you get quality. The price will be discounted so much; youll be able to get something great for a lot less. Another place to purchase childrens apparel is your local department store. Department stores carry so much inventory, youre almost guaranteed to find something your child needs. Department stores also have discounted prices and kid friendly atmospheres. Having a shopping cart means your child can be with you no matter what age they are. When shopping for childrens apparel, you might want to try sale shopping. Hitting the sales ensures that you get quality, stylish clothing for your child that is within your budget. The best time for sale shopping is around August, when stores lower their prices to target back to school shoppers. You can also find good sales toward middle or end of each season, since most shoppers tend to shop before or at the beginning of the season. You can also keep an eye on your local paper to let you know when specific sales will be going on. However you choose to purchase childrens apparel, it is a good idea to keep in mind your childs growth. Buying clothing that is a little big will ensure that the child wont grow out of it too soon. If you shop without your child, keep in mind the stores individual return policies, just in case the fit is off. And if you get stressed out, remember-your child will appreciate the great clothing you find for them! Goal Setting and Motivation for Weight Loss

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

By Maria Leong When you think about weight loss, what comes to mind? I want to have a slimmer waist line, I want to lose 10kg, I want to get rid of that double chin… What we don’t realise is, we are setting difficult to measure targets which can be very demoralising in the long run. 1) Make your goal bite-sized Think of it this way. If the piece of cake is too big, it won’t fit into your mouth… Split your goal into several short-term targets. Taking the example of “I want to lose 10Kg”. Your first short-term target will be “I want to lose 1Kg”. As you achieve each short-term target, you will feel that you are getting somewhere and that keeps you motivated to want to do more. 2) Be specific in your short-term target by including your action When we specify an action, it is something tangible and easier for you to do it. Eg. Instead of saying “I want to lose 1Kg”. You should say “I want to lose 1Kg by exercising 30 minutes everyday”. 3) Reward yourself As you achieve each short-term target, reward yourself. It could be something simple like, having a low-fat yoghurt. You will find that you are happier and have more energy to come back, and work on more of your short-term targets after the special reward. 4) Peer Motivation Tell 3 of your best friends your goal and your short-term targets. It would be even better if they join you and provide peer motivation. It is really helpful to get that phone call and mental boost from one of them, that it is time to go for that 30 minutes jog in the park. 5) Weight Loss contest Organise a weight loss contest among your friends. If your short-term target is to lose 1Kg, turn that into a contest and have a prize for the winner. Remember, motivation and correct goal setting is crucial to your weight loss. Keep at it, and I wish you success!
